Although I love to cook, I am not one to sit and watch a cooking show. I was never into Martha Stewart and I don't even know what Rachel Ray looks like. All I know is that my mom (and others I know) frequently speak of Ms. Ray and her techniques in the kitchen. "Hmph" or "yeah, so what" would be a typical response of mine. A couple weeks ago I volunteered to cook, what I had been told, was a lasagna recipe for my neighbor. All the ingredients were supplied. (This was actually very nice) All I needed to do was to follow the lasagna recipe, also supplied. One look at the recipe...printed right off the rachel ray web site....told me this was no ordinary lasagna. It was "spinach and mushroom lasagna rollups with gorgonzala cream sauce". Whew! What a mouthful! Although Rachel said she prepared this in 30 minutes, approx an hour later my dish was ready to go in the oven. The recipe was tasty. Definitely what I would call a girly dish. I shared this with 3 men and they all commented that it needed meat. Hmph, I should have known. :)
If you are a vegetarian, and are not concerned with milk or fat consumption then this recipe is for you. As for me a lactose intolerant person who would rather get her fat for the day in a Snickers bar, this dish which contains gorgonzala, mozarella, ricotta cheese and cream, I do not forsee myself fixing this again in the near future. Sorry Rachel.....
